    At ComIT, we believe that access to digital skills can open doors, create new opportunities, and help build stronger communities. Technology is a powerful tool—and we want to make sure Indigenous learners across Canada have the chance to explore it, use it, and shape it for the future.

    Our programs are created with you in mind. Whether you're curious about the tech world or looking to grow your existing skills, we’re here to support your journey. We understand that everyone learns differently, and we’re committed to providing a welcoming, flexible, and respectful learning environment.

    All of our training is offered online and free of charge. You can start with a one-month introductory course in areas like web programming, social media marketing, or UX design. If you're ready for more, you can apply to a three-month advanced course focused on high-demand programming languages like Java, .NET, or React. Along the way, we also help build soft skills like communication, confidence, and networking—so you’re ready for real opportunities in today’s job market.

One-month online introductory programs, each covering a topic such as web programming, social media marketing, or UX design. These courses are designed to help participants begin their journey into the tech world with foundational digital skills.

A three-month online program focused on one advanced programming language, such as Java, .NET, ReactJS, or NodeJS, depending on job market demand. Participants attend weekly live sessions, complete assignments, and gain both technical and soft skills to support career growth.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION CRITERIA?

- Self-identify as Indigenous (Status First Nations, Non-Status, Métis, Inuit)
- Be 15 years of age or older
- Be able to commit to part-time study
- Basic digital literacy skills

how much are the course fees?

Our courses are completely free for students.

IF I HAVE NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE IN PROGRAMMING OR MARKETING, CAN I STILL TAKE THE COURSES?

Yes! While any prior knowledge is helpful, our courses are designed to start from the basics. The most important factors are your commitment, effort, and dedication to learning.

DO YOU PROVIDE A CERTIFICATE UPON COMPLETION?

Yes. ComIT grants certificates to students who successfully complete the course and meet the criteria outlined at the beginning of the program.

I REGISTERED BUT HAVEN’T HEARD BACK FROM COMIT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Registrations are accepted year-round. Once a start date is confirmed, we contact people on the waiting list in the order they registered. There's no need to follow up — just make sure your contact information is correct.

HOW CAN I REGISTER?

All registrations must be completed through our website. Please click the ‘Register’ button below to get started.

IS ATTENDANCE MANDATORY?

Yes, attendance is mandatory. Regular participation is essential for your success and for maintaining your eligibility for current and future ComIT programs.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DROP OUT OR I CAN'T GET TO 75% ATTENDANCE RATE?

ComIT’s programs are made possible through generous donations, and we are committed to using our resources responsibly. To ensure opportunities are given to those who are fully committed, participants who withdraw from a course will not be eligible to attend future ComIT courses or events.
